As you think in your heart

The human mind has been a subject of much speculation and superstition. Renowned men and women have through the ages made their attempts at fully comprehending the ever elusive mind. Computers have been designed in an attempt to emulate the vast faculties of the human mind.

Resources have been made available to the layman and plenty of merchandise made concurrently. Teachings and tapes on how to master the memory and mind. From popular culture and much reading, I have learnt that the mind is a beautiful servant and a dangerous master.

Solomon, the wisest man in the Old Testament obviously had a lot to say in this regard. In Proverbs 23v7 he states “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he”. In his God-given wisdom, Solomon teaches that as a man thinks in his heart, so is he! Many self-help books have been produced on this mantra.

It reveals to us that everything we experience is a result of how we perceive things in our minds (hearts). So you want to change your scenario? Change your outlook towards it! As you think, so you are. Awake to reality that the Almighty has called you for. Begin confessing it to yourself repeatedly. This is true biblical meditation, not emptying your mind but filling it with God’s word.

Do not allow your mind to focus on your proclivities and the negatives. Don’t sulk. If you demoralize yourself long enough you tend to believe yourself. Your mind can serve you beautifully or it can be a cruel master to you. Remember; whatsoever is happening, you are in complete control.
