The Lord Jesus Christ made a statement concerning the Queen of Sheba and Solomon. We will look into that statement to glean onto a few principles of Present Day Truth (2 Peter 1:12) and see what the scriptures foretold of our modern day context of the church.

Matthew 12:42 “The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here”

Let’s begin with a simple principle; male and female, rightly related are an image of Christ and the Church as Paul so rightly pointed out “This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church” -Ephesians 5:32.

Solomon was a type of Christ and Christ is the fulfilment, the antitype of Solomon. Hence the Lord Jesus says that one greater than Solomon, one whom Solomon (to an extent) typified, is here. The Queen of Sheba in this context is seen as a prophetic picture of the Church.

Christ refers to her as the Queen of the South. I believe in my heart that there are truths in this which will apply to the church in the South, particularly in the southern hemisphere, and in South Africa practically

1 Kings 10:1-7 “And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions.
2 And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.
3 And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not any thing hid from the king, which he told her not.
4 And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon’s wisdom, and the house that he had built,
5 And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.
6 And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom.
7 Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard.”

The order of Solomon’s table
The Queen of SHEBA beheld all this and because of that Solomon granted her every wish.

I believe that:
+The Queen of Sheba saw a picture of the gospel in all this wisdom
+The spices odours on the table were prophetic of the Holy Ghost in His various ministrations to the church
+The spices she brought are a picture of the graces of God endowed to His people. Who minister it back unto him in worship and servitude
+the spices are seasons of reformation, when God visits His Church to revive it
+The spices are the church’s radical approach to the Father. We are to be passionate in our pursuit of Him
+The spices are the church as the light of the world
+The queen symbolises the church which will have every petition answered. Because man ought always to pray and faint not, likewise the Lord will answer our earnest petitions as Solomon answered all the questions the Queen had
+The Queen is a picture of the church that will “test” the wisdom of Solomon, a church who will put his very word to action. A church which will act on the Word of God
+She is the church which will prove him as “THE WISDOM OF GOD” (1 Corinthians 1:30)
+She is the church which will bring him gold (a pictureof divinity). A church which will present godliness to him. A church which has mined gold and precious minerals from the earth. A church which will dig out treasures from these earthen vessels…DIAMONDS, OPAZ, ONYX etc
+She prefigures the wise men from the east who brought gold and precious spices when the Son was born.

Solomon with the sword judging the babies
+The sword deals with the midnight hour
+the sword brings separation
+the sword will make him known and attract the queen of Sheba

Solomon built God a house, house no man could minister in. Our heavenly Solomon is the one who builds His church. In this church, no flesh will minister
+When this temple is built, no sound is heard in the quarry…like the 7000 prophets silent in the caves (stones around them)

+Solomon wrote Ecclesiastes, he wrote of vanity under the sun
+Vanity in the world
+Vanity outside of Christ

God requires the order of Solomon’s table today:
1. The type of offering which brings down his glory
2. The type of church which will have every resource for ministry. He has given us all things that pertain unto life and godliness
3. Wisdom to bring peace on earth
4. The splendour of the Kingdom
5. The voice of a king
6. Like Solomon, Christ has had many virgins who have done well, but he now has his eyes on one who surpasses them all.
